Our Annual Parochial Church Meeting 2024 will take place on Sunday 12 May 2024 at 11am in church.
The annual meeting is an important time to come together and hear more about all that has gone on over the past year. The meeting in April therefore will be reporting on the year April 2023 – March 2024. The meeting is also when important leadership elections take place.

Elections
Churchwardens – May 12 will also be the time we hold our annual meeting for the election of Churchwardens – this will form the first part of the overall meeting. Churchwardens are appointed for a period of one year and so have to be elected or re-elected at every APCM.
The role of churchwarden is incredibly important in helping to lead our work and ministry, working with the Priest0in-Charge and the staff team. This is obviously especially important this year as Natasha joins us at the end of June as Priest-in-Charge. While both churchwardens need to be elected at this meeting, we already know that one of our wardens, Mervyn Silva, has made the decision not to stand for election this year and so we will be looking for someone new to come into this role at this key time. We have put together some Frequently Asked Questions (see the link below) to explain more about the role and how it works.
Please pray about this important role and that God will call the right person to step forward at this time. Please be open to the fact it might be you or it could be someone you know. You might make the difference in being the person to say to someone else “Have you ever thought God might be calling you?”

As well as wardens, there are elections to vacancies on the Parochial Church Council. The PCC is an important body as it forms the Trustees of the charity which is St Peter’s. It’s members work closely with the Priest-in-Charge in being responsible for leadership, governance and oversight of the work of the church, from worship and mission to finance and our buildings and land.
Please do think and pray about who you want to serve you in any of these posts. The nomination forms for both of these are out now and can be found on the welcome desk in church. Please hand completed nomination forms to Gemma Richards (Vice Chair of the PCC and chairing the body during the vacancy) and speak to any of the Staff Team or any current member of the PCC if you wish to know more about serving in either of these roles.
