When someone dies there are a lot of practical things to be done, not all of which involve the church. Charities such as Age UK have leaflets, information and a website to help you.
There are a number of local Funeral Directors. Guidance is available from the Church Office if this is not familiar territory for you.
If someone lived in this parish, or worshipped here, or had a long-standing connection with St Peter’s, a church funeral may well be appropriate, and you should contact the Church Office in the first instance to discuss this – you may be able to do this through your undertaker if you have someone arranging the funeral for you.
St Peter’s makes no separate charges for funerals on top of the fees collected by your Funeral Director. The clergy are always prepared to officiate at funerals at Crematoria or other locations.
