A reflection from Rev Natasha Thomas – St Peter’s Priest-in-Charge
Sunday 1 September
Dear Friends,
As I get to know different people and see the amazing skills, gifts and talents that the congregations of St Peter’s have I have been wondering how we might best use them to glorify God. I am always mindful that when we have been blessed with talents, we shouldn’t bury them, but look to utilize them, so that God’s kingdom can be grown. Sometimes it is hard to know how to get involved or to do something different, because it seems to already be covered…but we need to look at ways in which we build up our whole body.
For instance, you might feel God prompting you to explore your role as a:
- Intercessor
- Prayer ministry
- Bible reader
- Administration
- Coffee maker
- Pastoral care visitor
- Welcomer
- Musician
- Singer
- Speaker
- Children’s work
- Youth work
- Sound techies
- Or something else!
You may feel God’s prompting but not feel confident about doing it, please don’t let that put you off, as we can provide training and support to enable you to try and to grow.
Please get in touch with me (natasha.thomas@stpetes.org.uk or 07887707221) if you would like to discuss any of the above.
To get us going, I am holding a meeting on Thursday 12th September at 7pm at St Peter’s for anyone who would be interested in preaching.
Blessings
Natasha
