Saturday 15 June 10am-noon
Come and join us for a special opportunity to find out more about what happens up at our Fernhill Road site!
St Peter’s has a piece of land on Fernhill Road (first left after the church as you head up Moorhead Lane – the land is on the right, behind the hedge and the big gate!
The land has always been kept for recreational use by local people and is home to both the St Peter’s Tennis Club and St Peter’s Crown Green Bowls Club. There is also a further small area of land which is used by our various scouting and guiding uniformed groups for young people. We are currently looking at what more we can do with the whole site, and this area in particular, to be more sustainable and support our ambition to be an eco-church, in the way we look after the land we have responsibility to steward.
There will be an Open Day at Fernhill on Saturday 15 June between 10am and noon, to give everyone who lives locally the opportunity to come and find out more about what’s behind the gate and how you might want to get involved!
There will be chance to find out more about the two sports clubs and to try both bowls and tennis – including free tennis sessions with the club coach – racquets and balls provided. Light refreshments will be available, there will be activities for children, including a lego tent! – and 3rd Shipley Scouts will also be on site to show what they’ve been up to and talk about their plans for the site.
Come along and join us – just drop in on Saturday morning. We’d love to see you!
