IMPORTANT: Services during Lockdown

A message from St Peter’s Vicar, Rev John Rainer

On Thursday 14th January the Parochial Church Council of St Peters voted unanimously to move all our worship online until their next meeting on 15th February. This means that there will be no services in church for the next month.

This decision was not made lightly and only after a lengthy debate in which a number of views were aired. Whilst places of worship are allowed to open for services under present rules, it was felt that to remain open would not be in the spirit of current restrictions. The message is to ‘Stay at home’.

I know that some of you will be disappointed by this. However, we have also agreed to keep the situation under regular review, particularly if government regulations are changed. We want to be back in church as soon as the public health situation begins to improve.

If you are able to access our worship online, you are strongly encouraged to do so. If you cannot, it remains possible to find Christian worship on the TV and on the radio.

I am pleased to be able to report that the issues with the church boilers which kept us out of church last Sunday have been resolved, and that the church will be usable as soon as it becomes safer to do so.
