We are really excited to be starting our new trial pattern of services this week with the introduction of two new services on Sunday mornings.
Picnic Church at 9.30am will be service of 30-40 minutes for all ages with prayers, stories, worship and activities that anyone of any age can enjoy. Come along and bring a picnic blanket or a folding chair to sit on (church chairs will be available if you can’t bring your own!) and bring some refreshments if you would like – it is a picnic!
A prayer service will then follow at 10.45, again for around 30 minutes. This will be a quieter more reflective service, centred around prayer and reflection on the theme and Bible readings for the day. Church chairs will be available for this service.
John has restarted Holy Communion services on Wednesday mornings at 11am – these take place in the Hope Chapel and are conducted within the current regulations for communion.
Entry to church is still via a one-way system from the car park for all these services and the main door remains out of use for the time being. All the social distancing and hand-washing requirements are still in place too and we will be doing all we can to make this as easy as possible for people.
This means we have to restrict the numbers able to attend public worship services at the moment and to manage this, we need to ask you to book a place at Sunday morning services (maximum of 40 per service) and for Wednesday morning communion (maximum of 10) every week. Services will open for booking six days in advance.
You can do this in 3 ways:
You can book online, via the Eventbrite website, and we would encourage you to do this if you have access to the internet. As a trial run, this week you can book this way for Sunday’s services and for next Wednesday:
Click here to book for 9.30 Picnic Service this Sunday (26 July)
Click here to book for the 10.45 Prayer Service this Sunday (26 July)
Click here to book for 11am Wednesday Communion on 29 July.
Online booking is open now for all these services and will close at 6pm on Saturday for the Sunday services and 6pm on Tuesday for Communion.
However, if you aren’t able to book online, you can still book by either
- phoning the church office (01274) 400381 Monday-Friday 9.30am-noon or
- emailing office@stpetes.org.uk anytime up to 12 noon on the Friday before a Sunday service or noon on the Tuesday before for Wednesday communion.
