Join us this Sunday (May 31) for the Church’s birthday partytime as we celebrate the Day of Pentecost!
You can find out more about the significance of Pentecost and what it meant for the early church and means for us now in John’s weekly letter which you can download here.
To celebrate the festival on Sunday, there will be a very special national service, reportedly going to be involving both our Archbishops AND the Pope (!) which you can watch or listen to via the Church of England website here from 9am on Sunday morning.
At 10.30am, Rachel will be leading Family Worship this week with Emma Taylor, a member of our Risen Youth Group, over on our Facebook page here.
Then in the evening at 6.30pm, there will be a special service of Evening Worship for Pentecost, on our YouTube channel here at 6.30pm. (Apologies for the mistake on the email version of the noticesheet which wrongly said there would be a 10.30 communion service this week – sorry for any confusion caused!)
This week will be very episcopal (!) with both a Pentecost message to the church from the Archbishop of Canterbury and a special guest sermon from our own Bishop of Bradford, Toby Howarth. You can download the words for the service from here to enable you to join in.
So let’s pray Come Holy Spirit as we get ready to celebrate the Feast of Pentecost this weekend!
