Spare a Prayer

‘And pray in the spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.’ (Ephesians 6:18)

We know that one of the really important things we can do during these strange times is to keep praying for one another. Knowing that someone else out there is thinking about you and bringing your needs and concerns before God can help us all to feel more connected and less isolated when things get tough.

We wanted to give you a way to share your prayer needs with the church, so that we can make sure you are regularly rememberd in everyone’s wider prayers.

If you click here you will find a form we have set up which you can fill in to send us details of your prayer requests. You don’t have to tell us your name and you don’t have to be a regular member of St Peter’s – if you would appreciate prayers at this time, please feel able to use the form to briefly tell us what it is you would like prayer for. Telling us things your would like to give thanks for would be great too as it will help to encourage everyone!

Your prayer requests can be kept confidential within the church staff team (John, our vicar, Viv, our lay reader, Karen & Kerry, our churchwardens and Rachel, our youth worker) or we can share your requests for prayer with everyone in the church family (again, this can be done anonymously if you wish). There is space on the form to tell us which you prefer. For any prayer requests shared with the wider church, we will send a prayer bulletin out with our weekly emails to the church, so that requests will stay within the church family but can be widely prayed for.

If you know someone who would appreciate a copy of the form by email or on paper because they do not have access to the website, please contact the church office and we will be happy to arrange to send electronic forms by email or paper forms by post.

Finally, there are sections on the form to tell us your details if you would find practical help from our Shipley Neighbours project useful at this time, as well as prayer.

So please do spare us your prayers – the ones you would like prayed for you and, as we start to share needs, the ones you can pray for others!
